Eric Bischoff Claiming The Undertaker Couldn’t Even Help AEW Product Is Timely After Dynamite Delivers Lowest Rating Since 2020

Recent comments by WWE Hall-of-Famer Eric Bischoff on AEW’s struggles are not only hilarious but timely after this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite delivered the show’s lowest rating in four years.

This has not been a good year for AEW. While they made some huge splashes in pro wrestling by throwing shocking sums at free agents Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada, and Mercedes Mone, the moves have not delivered improved TV ratings. Actually, the show has been getting some of its lowest television numbers in the company’s five-year history.

One legend of the industry who has spoken publicly often about what ills the AEW product is former WCW President Eric Bischoff. The WWE Hall-of-Famer often points his finger at AEW co-founder Tony Khan and how he runs the creative side of the product. He did so again during a recent edition of his “83 Weeks” podcast and suggested that neither a returning MJF nor the legendary Undertaker could boost the company’s TV numbers.

I don’t think MJF is going to take AEW to a whole new level because it’s not a talent-driven issue, it’s a creative-driven issue,” Bischoff said. I think you could drop The Undertaker into the center of the ring from a helicopter, have him repelled down like Sting did, put him in the center of the ring, and start a program with him in AEW and if Tony Khan is booking it, it’s just not going to matter.
