Inter Milan are set to hold a decisive meetings to decide on their summer transfer window.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset. The broadcaster anticipate that among the major priorities of the meeting will be clarifying there won’t be major sales, and setting attacking targets.

Inter’s season may still technically be underway, at least for another week and change.

However, off the pitch the club are already very much orienting themselves towards next summer.

For the Nerazzurri directors as well as coach Simone Inzaghi, that means thinking about the transfer market.

The summer window is not far away from opening now. Therefore, Inter will have to have a clear strategy worked out as to how they will approach the window.

That strategy should emerge from a key meeting that will happen very soon.

Coach Inzaghi will be present. So will Inter CEO Beppe Marotta, Sporting Director Piero Ausilio, and Assistant Sporting DIrector Dario Baccin.

And Mediaset report that Inter President Steven Zhang will also be present in the meeting via video conference.

With Zhang having all but secured the immediate future of Suning at Inter, the Nerazzurri President will clarify what the financial conditions are – and how they will impact the transfer strategy.

Mediaset anticipate that it will be another “net zero” market.

In other words, Inter will not have to make any painful sales in order to turn a profit this summer. But nor will they have any extra cash to spend on signings.

That means that the Nerazzurri must “sell to buy” if they want to reinforce the squad.

Key Priorities Of Inter Milan Summer Transfer Summit Revealed

There will be a few key priorities for Inter this summer.

The most important won’t be a matter of signings. Rather, the club want to keep the current squad that has been so successful together.

That means that virtually all the key starters will remain.

The one regular starter who could well be sold is wingback Denzel Dumfries.

Inter will aim to sell the Dutchman should he not extend his contract. His deal currently runs until the end of next June – and Inter would have no intention of letting him leave on a free transfer.

If Dumfries is sold, that could bring some cash in.

But otherwise, Inter’s strategy will be to fund any signings they make with what Mediaset describe as “Casadei-style” sales.

Inter will be willing to sell a lot of the players who are not currently part of the first team.

Mediaset report that the Nerazzurri would even listen to offers for attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni, similar to when they sold midfielder Cesare Casadei to Chelsea in the summer of 2022.

In 2022, the sales of Casadei and Andrea Pinamonti were what funded Inter’s incoming transfer business.

And it will be a similar story this summer.

Mediaset anticipate that the area where Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is keenest on an investment is in attack.

Inter will have Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram, Marko Arnautovic, and Mehdi Taremi as options at striker next season. But Inzaghi doesn’t think that is sufficient depth or versatile.

Therefore, Mediaset report, the coach will insist on an investment in attack.

Barcelona’s Vitor Roque has emerged as one possible target for Inter in their search for a striker, Mediaset confirm.

But the broadcaster report that the top target remains Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson.
